I Kings 18:12
| And when I am gone from thee, the Spirit of the Lord will carry thee into a place that I know not: and I shall go in and tell Achab; and he, not finding thee, will kill me: but thy servant feareth the Lord from his infancy.
| Spirit. Abdias supposed that the prophet had been transported to some unknown country, (Calmet) as he was afterwards to paradise. His disciples imagined, by a violent wind, 4 Kings 2:16. (Haydock) --- Thus the spirit of the Lord took away Philip, (Acts 8:39,) and conducted Jesus into the desert, Matthew 4:1., and Mark 1:12. (Calmet) --- Infancy.
