I Kings 22:39

But the rest of the acts of Achab, and all that he did, and the house of ivory that he made, and all the cities that he built, are they not written in the Book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?

Of ivory. The palace was greatly adorned with it, (see Amos 3:15., and Psalm 44:9.; Calmet) like the throne of Solomon, 3 Kings 10:18. Pliny (xvi. 43.) speaks of bedsteads and vehicles of ivory, in the same sense. (Tirinus)
