| The sorrows of death surrounded me: and the torrents of iniquity troubled me.
| Sorrows...iniquity. Hebrew, "cables....Belial." By these figurative expressions, David declares to what dangers he had been exposed. They seem to be more applicable to our Saviour's agony.
