Matthew 23:4 | *For they bind heavy and insupportable burdens: and lay them on men's shoulders: but with a finger of their own they will not move them. Luke 11:46.; Acts 15:10. | Heavy and insupportable burdens. Some understand in general the ceremonies of the law of Moses; but Christ seems rather here to mean the vain customs, traditions, and additions, introduced by the Jewish doctors, and by their Scribes and Pharisees.
